Weighty Problem is the first segment from the seventh episode of Garfield and Friends.
Synopsis
Jon brought a scale, and Garfield decides to tamper with it so he could trick Jon into being too overweight.
Plot
Jon comes home and Garfield thinks his arrival will be on the news tonight. He announces to the cat what he has bought; a new scale. Garfield tests it, but the scale misunderstands what he was trying to do. Garfield then decides to tamper with the scale to trick Jon. Then, he comes out and finds that the scale tells him that he is 50 pounds overweight. He decides to go on a strict diet.
After Jon eats lunch, he decides to workout, until Garfield finds that he has to work out too.
While Jon and Garfield workout, they jog through the driveway, and Garfield gets tired very easily when he exercises. Jon suggest they go west, but Garfield suggests they go east, but Jon thinks he just wants to go east because it's shorter, but Jon then falls down an open manhole, which is particularly the reason why Garfield wanted to go east.
Later, Jon and Garfield pull on some weights, and it was too tough for them, so since Garfield and Jon pull it together, Garfield lets go on one of the ropes and Jon gets flung and crashes into the house.
Then, Jon and Garfield play an aerobics workout record and dance to it, but Garfield cannot dance so well as Jon, so he decides to speed the music up, and when he stops it, Jon falls down to the ground, with Garfield noting, "You know, you should stop trying to improve your health before you remove your health."
Garfield comes back inside the house and tests the scale before he puts it back to accurate weight.
Jon returns to weigh himself again and discovers (thanks to the scale) that he's been had. In a rage, he chases Garfield out of the house and down the street.
