To fellow administrators and contributors, I am formally announcing my intention to leave this wiki, and FANDOM for good. It's really no surprise if you've known me long enough, and my recent inactivity has already pointed towards that. After posting, I will have initiated deletion for this account.
I intend to make this quick, but to be fair on fellow administration, I will list out the two reasons I feel have made me choose to leave.
The main reason is real life, and the relationships that are very much present in my life, people whom I feel are worth dedicating more time to than what I could a wiki. When I rejoined last year, it was not that I had regained an interest in Garfield, but it was purely because I was not in a proper headspace, and I felt that if I could add something to anything, it'd be towards something I happen to have a trove of information on. But in the past few months, with people whom I care for and vice versa, and their support, I feel like I'm ready to step back into a healthier line of thinking, away from here.
Second to that, is my disdain for the current platform as is, spurred on by user TeeJay87's severe months-long smear campaign against me, and FANDOM's response to the whole situation. I have honestly tried to stay away from that drama for months upon months. But even up into this month, TeeJay87 continues his crusade, still referring to people I don't even know as 'my thugs', and attempting to blackmail his way back here, all this after he pulled out even worse accusations, such as manufacturing evidence of a 'drunk' Discord conversation and accusing FANDOM staff of collaborating with me, all of which handed him temporary global blocks. These bizarre accusations haven't bothered me nearly as much as FANDOM's refusal to block him permanently for this kind of behaviour, despite months worth of evidence that he obviously doesn't intend on stopping. I'm very much bothered that this kind of treatment is allowed, and I really do not wish to be part of a platform that allows for it with no real severe repercussions.
I definitely have had my share of entertainment here, and its been nice to meet up with the administration once again, old and new. I respect each admin very much so, especially Low Spark of Lyman, whom through the years of this wiki's pressure, has remained at its forefront, still the prime editor.
This is really the last thing I'll ever publish on this wiki, and FANDOM as a whole. Leaving on terms that I can honestly dictate makes me feel more positive for doing so, and I hope that everyone else can find the same kind of fruition. Good luck to everyone, and happy editing!
