The Raccoons are a species of creature who occasionally interact with Garfield. They have appeared in The Garfield Show, as well as the mobile game Garfield Food Truck.

Personalities[]

In The Garfield Show, three raccoons appear named Gnarly, Farley and Charley.

In Garfield Food Truck, a number of raccoons appear as the game's bosses. They are, in order of appearance on the level map, Russel, Gus, Lil'Bother, Doofus, Smellany, and Grandma. In the game, each raccoon has a different ability that they use during their levels. Their personalities are unknown, but they each attempt to break into Jon's food truck at some point during the game, presumably in order to steal food.

Garfield Food Truck[]

Each raccoon has a different ability that they use during their boss fight level. Unless the player is fighting Gus, each boss fight has a timer which shows the player how many turns remain until the raccoon they are fighting will activate their ability.

  • Russel will occasionally burp, removing a few random ingredients from the playfield. In some of his fights, he will always target ingredients that are able to hurt him if there are any on the playfield.
  • Gus will occasionally hold up a trash can lid as a shield, blocking any attacks for that turn. Unlike all of the other raccoons in the game, Gus does not use an ability timer, and his special ability appears to be triggered by causing large amounts of damage in a single turn, although the exact trigger is unkown,
  • Lil'Bother will occasionally fire a nearby trashcan with his slingshot, causing a few plastic cups to fly out and replace some random ingredients on the board.
  • Doofus will occasionally throw some plastic sandwich bags onto the playfield, causing a few random ingredients to become plastic-wrapped. In some of the fights against Doofus, for unknown reasons, he will sometimes not activate his special ability when his ability timer reaches zero, instead simply doing nothing and causing the timer to reset.
  • Smellany will occasionally scratch herself, flinging a flea onto the playfield. Every Smellany battle has a set number of fleas that can appear on the playfield, and if Smellany's ability timer reaches zero while the playfield has the maximum number of fleas on it, she will simply do nothing and the timer will reset.
  • Grandma will occasionally throw a number of hats onto the playfield, which will each briefly cover up a tile, then disappear before the next turn begins. These hats will replace the ingredients they land on with soda cans and plastic cups, other random ingredients, random powerups, takeout boxes, BBQ sauce bottles, mice, fleas, flea lint, ingredients within bubbles, or ingredient mixers. In some of her fights, the hats may only perform some of these actions instead of all of them, or her hats may all perform the same action in a given turn, alternating between actions every time she uses her special ability. Grandma's hats will only spawn ingredient mixers in certain locations during certain fights, though if a powerup is kept in one of these locations until she is defeated, the mixer can be prevented from spawning. Ingredient mixers spawned by Grandma's hats will have all three lights lit, however will not spawn any ingredients until activated again, making them functionally identical to two-light ingredient mixers.

Sometimes, multiple raccoons are fought within a single level. In this case, the mugshots for the raccoons that appear in the level will appear on-screen before the level begins, as well as every time a raccoon is defeated, with a red "X" appearing over the mugshots of raccoons that have already been defeated. When one raccoon is defeated, five turns are added to the level's turn timer, and the next raccoon appears immediately, playing their intro animation as if they were appearing at the beginning of a single-raccoon level. Often, the items that are able to hurt the boss will change when a new raccoon appears. If Smellany is one of the raccoons who is fought in a given level, the flower that wilts during her intro animation will be present from the beginning of the level, and will only disappear once Smellany appears and completes her intro animation.
