The Curse of Klopman is an episode from the second season of Garfield and Friends.
Synopsis
Garfield inherits the Klopman Diamond, a cursed jewel.
Plot
Herman is bringing the mail to Jon's house. Knowing what Garfield could be up to, he prepares himself with proper protection. He delivers the mail, thinking for once, he actually pulled it off, but he is tangled by a rope trap Garfield had lying in wait. Jon gets a letter from the lawyer of his recently deceased cousin Norbert who wants Jon to meet his lawyer for the reading of his will. As Garfield and Jon leave for the reading, they forgot to untie Herman.
At the reading, Norbert leaves his business partner, Elmwood Crass, nothing because he swindled him. He only tells Jon hello, leaving him nothing at all either. Garfield gets Norbert's prized possession: the Klopman Diamond. Elmwood finds it outrageous that Garfield gets the diamond. The lawyer warns Garfield that the diamond is cursed, but Garfield scoffs at the notion.
As soon as Jon and Garfield get home, Elmwood arrives at the house demanding the diamond; Garfield turns it down. Odie comes by and Garfield throws him a ball which leads to a chain reaction causing the ottoman to plow him into the wall. As Garfield rubs that off, a truck dumps a ton of cement into the house on top of him, due to the drivers getting the wrong address. As Garfield is being chiseled free, he comments how there are no pigeons, only for pigeons to fly right in on him. Elmwood makes another demand and Garfield refuses again until the door, and then the house, falls on him, leading him to settle for selling it.
Elmwood signs a check to Garfield and leaves with the diamond, running into all sorts of events that almost mutilate him, leading him to be chased by lightning. Jon takes the check to pay for the house damage, leaving Garfield high and dry. And all this time, Herman is still dangling in the tree.
