Super Sonic Seymour is the first segment from the eighty ninth episode of Garfield and Friends.
Synopsis[]
Jon calls a man named Super Sonic Seymour, who makes him do an excessive number of chores at a quick speed.
Plot[]
Garfield and Jon are sitting watching TV as Jon laments that he has a lot of chores to do, as well as a date with a woman named Joyce later in the day, but is listless and does not have the motivation to do any work. At that point, Garfield changes the channel to a commercial depicting Super Sonic Seymour, a fast-talking, fast-acting motivator who helps people get things done in the quickest amount of time possible. With his lack of motivation, and Seymour himself urging him to do so from the TV, Jon phones Seymour help him get all of his chores done in time.
Later that day, Seymour quickly arrives at the house. When Jon opens the door a moment later, Seymour complains to Jon for being late. After forcing himself inside the house and rapidly explaining his program, Seymour swipes Jon's wallet as a means of payment, then gives him a long list of chores to do, prompting Jon to get to work immediately. Garfield and Odie initially have no complaints about Jon running himself ragged getting his work done, but when Jon serves them a huge buffet for lunch, he instantly takes it away so he can wash the dishes. Garfield decides that if he's not eating, he may as well take a nap, but his slumber is cut short when Jon shampoos and rinses the carpet.
Once his list is done, Seymour hands Jon a second list of chores to do. Jon tries to protest that he has a date soon, prompting Seymour to rebuke Jon as a waster of both his own time and Seymour's. Jon is once again forced to get to work, as Garfield tells Odie that this new development means they will not get dinner. Throughout the day, the duo see Jon rapidly doing chores around the house. The doorbell soon rings as Joyce arrives, prompting Garfield to believe that Jon can finally take a break. Unfortunately, Jon continues doing chores during his date, not having the time to go to dinner or a movie, or even to heat his and Joyce's coffee, before throwing her out so he can dust the mantle.
After he and Odie are trampled, Garfield declares that he has had enough. Going up to a typewriter, he conjures up a new list for Seymour to read. When Seymour arrives with a new list for the utterly exhausted Jon, Garfield switches out Seymour's list with his own. His list instructs Jon to remove Seymour's pants, dump paint on his head, get his money back, and throw him in the trash can. By the time Seymour realizes that what he's reading isn't his list, Jon is already pulling him into the house to do everything on Garfield's list. After Seymour is taken away by the garbage men, Jon, having finally run out of things to do, is back to his normal pace. He then realizes what he did to Joyce and runs to call her so he can apologize. Odie thinks that Joyce will never forgive him, while Garfield asserts that their date was the best they ever had.
