Shepard Menken (aka Shep Menken) (November 2, 1921 – January 2, 1999) was an American character actor and voice actor.
Menken's roles in animation include Clyde Crashcup from The Alvin Show, Tonto from the 1966 animated series adaptation of The Lone Ranger, The Spelling Bee and Chroma the Great from The Phantom Tollbooth, the title character from the 1975 version of Rikki-Tikki-Ravi, Dr. Doom from Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends, and the Old Storyteller from Bugs Bunny’s 3rd Movie: 1001 Rabbit Tales. He was also heard in commercials, such as Cap’n Crunch Cereal, StarKist Tuna, Kroger, Mattel Toys, and Western Airlines. He made live action appearances in I Love Lucy, I Spy The Wild Wild West, The Big Valley and Mission: Impossible.
