
Nino Tempo (January 6, 1935 - April 10, 2025) was an American musician, singer, and actor.
Tempo is best known for the 1963 hit song "Deep Purple", which he sang with his sister Carol (aka April Stevens). He has performed with John Lennon, Maynard Ferguson and the Modern Jazz Quartet. He was one of the session musicians that made up The Wrecking Crew.
As a child actor, Tempo appeared in The Red Pony and The Glenn Miller Story. He later made appearances in The Girl Can't Help It, Bop Girl Goes Calypso, Johnny Trouble, an episode of Peter Gunn, and The Idolmaker.
