Nathan is a character from The Garfield Show. He is first seen in the episode Neighbor Nathan as Jon's new next-door neighbor. He takes Odie as a pet after discovering him in distress. As the episode progressed, he is revealed to be an evil mad scientist who wanted to turn Odie into a cockroach. However, in the nick of time, Garfield and Squeak rescued Odie, which resulted in Nathan to fall into his own trap, therefore becoming a cockroach instead. He returned in other episodes to get revenge on Garfield.

- Many older fans believe that Nathan is based on Roscoe, the son of Jon's cousin from the classic Garfield episode "Brain Boy" who is also a genius and torments Garfield.
