Outside a pet shop, Harry, Lucky, and Myron look at a fish in an aquarium, but the fish closes the window shades on them. Lucky tells the others that he is craving a mouse, as Harry remarks that he hasn't eaten any mice in a long time. Myron tells them that he has never eaten mice in his life. Harry is disappointed that Myron has never tasted a mouse and says that he has eaten hundreds of mice, making Lucky say that he has had thousands. As they walk away from the pet shop, Myron asks Lucky why Garfield doesn't eat mice. Lucky says that they're his friends and Harry says that mice don't taste like lasagna.

Squeak then tells his friends to save a piece of cheese for Biff, an old classmate of Squeak's from mouse school, who was the smallest mouse in his class, and that he'll visit. The mice hide in various places when Jon approaches the living room, and he tells Garfield that he'll be out of town for a week. And Garfield tells Odie that if Jon saw a mouse in the house, Garfield wouldn't be able to have lasagna for a year. Jon then decides to bring a snack bag for the trip. unknown to him, Squeak is inside that bag and Jon throws it in his suitcase! As the rest of the mice come out of hiding, Biff, who became big and strong, comes in and asks where Squeak is. Garfield notices that Jon is coming into the living room and tells the mice to hide. Biff doesn't and says he's not afraid of humans. But Garfield sits on Biff to keep Jon from getting suspicious. Jon leaves after he tells Garfield that the house must stay mouse-free. Biff, who was still stuck under Garfield, flings him offscreen, as the rest of the mice come out. Biff, disappointed at the other mice being out of shape, works the other mice to exercise. Garfield tells Odie to search the house to find Squeak.

He asks a sleeping mouse where he is, the sleeping mouse says that he's in Mexico, making Squeak panic, and realize he has to get home. At a post office, Squeak writes Jon's address on a postage box and gets delivered in the box.

Garfield tells Odie that they still haven't found Squeak, and worse, Jon returns home today. Biff then tells some mice to spread some flyers around town. Garfield looks at one of the flyers, which promotes Biff's Mouse Gym. Garfield tells Biff to leave the house and fast. Biff doesn't relent and tells the cat that might makes right. On a TV report, a reporter says that this morning, the town exterminator was thrown out of a house by a mouse, and a few mice come to the reporter's table, scaring her as they laugh at the camera. Garfield tries again to convince Biff to leave but the muscled-up mouse won't leave until Squeak is found.

Before they decide to enter, Myron asks the others what mice taste like, which makes Harry and Lucky stammer. Myron comes inside first and looks inside the kitchen doggie door. Locating two mice, Irv and Emily. So, Myron grabs the two mice, and tosses them to Harry and Lucky, as the two mice scream for help. Lucky and Harry hesitate and dare each other to eat their mouse first. Biff notices the three cats and thinks that one of the cats gulped up Squeak, making Biff shake up Harry and toss him offscreen after freeing Emily. Biff then beats on Lucky as Irv is freed. Biff then chases Lucky and Myron as he demands to know if the cats ate Squeak. Myron says no when Biff leg-locks Him. Lucky also says no, and admits that he never ate any mice before, when Biff grabbed Lucky's tail. As the calamity ensues, Garfield answers the door when the doorbell rings, and arriving was Herman Post with a box, who leaves when he hears loud noises from inside. Garfield catches the box, and opens it, containing Squeak. As Garfield asks Squeak to tell Biff to leave the house, Harry is thrown out through the door, Lucky is thrown out through the window, and Myron through the chimney. As Biff threatens the cats not to even taste a mouse, he is relieved to see Squeak alive and well. This happens just in time, too, as Jon returns home, glad that the house is still without mice. After Jon leaves, Biff suggests Garfield should exercise, making the cat exercise until the episode's end, until he slips on a cheese barbell.

Muscle Mouse is an episode from the third season of The Garfield Show.

Synopsis

Squeak's herculean friend Biff visits Garfield's house and turns it into a mouse gym. Meanwhile, Squeak, who is accidentally inside Jon's suitcase, tries to return home.

Plot

Harry, Lucky, and Myron check out the fish outside a pet shop. Lucky tells the other two that he is craving a mouse.
