Mr. Arbuckle is Jon Arbuckle and Doc Boy Arbuckle's father, and also the son of Grandpa Arbuckle and Grandma Arbuckle who tends the family farm. Based on Jim Davis' own father, Mr. Arbuckle is portrayed as the quiet, no-nonsense father type. As proven in one strip, he has very rarely been off the farm. Also, every Christmas he reads the Christmas story "Binky, the Clown Who Saved Christmas" to everyone, despite his lack of interest.

Mr. Arbuckle is a bald man who has a strong resemblance of his son, Doc Boy. He wears a red long sleeve square-stripped shirt and a long pants.
