Madam Ouspenskya is a gypsy fortune teller, who once worked at a carnival. After she was arrested by Garfield for operating without a license, she had placed a "curse of the wolf creature" on him.
Although Madam Ouspenskya proclaimed herself as a fraud (including her accent), the curse on Garfield worked. She eventually undid the spell. To get even with her, Garfield used a curse to make her a mime.

- Madam Ouspenskya's name is derived from Russian actress Maria Ouspenskaya, who portrayed the Gypsy fortune teller Maleva in The Wolf Man and Frankenstein Meets The Wolf Man.
