Louis Allen "Lou" Rawls (December 1, 1933 - January 6, 2006) was an American singer, actor, and voice actor.
Among Rawls' hit songs are "You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine", "Love Is a Hurtin' Thing", "Lady Love", "Dead End Street", and "Your Good Thing (Is About to End)". He performed The Star-Spangled Banner numerous times throughout his career. He was among the performers of the Monterey International Pop Music Festival in 1967, although he was not featured in D.A. Pennebaker's concert film of the event. He sang for "Chicago's Very Own", the campaign song of WGN-TV.
Rawls made onscreen appearances in The Big Valley, Sesame Street, Mannix, Leaving Las Vegas, Lookin' Italian, My Wife and Kids, and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. He performed voiceover in Captain Planet, What a Cartoon!, Hey Arnold!, and The Proud Family, and sang parts for This Is America, Charlie Brown and The Rugrats Movie.
Rawls was among the members of The Louisiana Gator Boys, a blues supergroup featured in The Blues Brothers 2000, along with B.B. King. He was a spokesperson for Colonial Penn Life Insurance, Spur Malt Liquor, and Budweiser.
