Little Golden Books is a series of children's storybooks that started in 1942. It was originally published by Western Publishing until its closure in 2001, partnered with Simon and Schuster until 1958. It is now published by Penguin Random House.
Original titles by Little Golden Books include The Poky Little Puppy, Tootle, Scuffy the Tugboat, The Little Red Hen, Doctor Dan the Bandage Man, The Saggy Baggy Elephant, Tawny Scrawny Lion, and The Color Kittens. It has also published books about nature, science, Bible stories, nursery rhymes, fairy tales, and Christmas stories.
Little Golden Books has published many stories based on Sesame Street (most notably The Monster at the End of This Book: Starring Lovable, Furry Old Grover), Disney franchises and Looney Tunes.
