Lanolin Sheep

Lanolin Sheep is a U.S. Acres character and the second-to-last introduced main character in the strip (before Bo). In Garfield and Friends, she is voiced by Julie Payne .

Personality

Usually shown as a pessimistic hard worker, but with a personality the polar opposite of her brother: loud and disagreeable. Her name is that of the grease produced by wool-bearing animals, such as sheep. In the comic strip, she was much more abrasive than in the television series. She revealed that she has wider arms and fingers than Roy during a fight, and was the only one who could put Roy in his place. Deep down Lanolin loves Bo, but she has a funny way of showing it.

Trivia

  • As revealed on the November 20 , 1987 strip and Rooster Revenge , Lanolin's favorite food is possibly strawberry ice cream. On the November 20, 1987 strip, Lanolin says that slop is what they were going to have for dinner, but Bo says it was ice cream, and then says it's strawberry ice cream ("That's your faaavorite, isn't it, Lanolin?"), leaving Lanolin to stick her tongue out (and drool, in which also reveals her gullible side) and look cross-eyed, in which lets Bo convince her it's a "big scoop of strawberry ice cream with a jumbo-size sugar cone", leaving Lanolin to look very interested. Orson then says slop's is served, much to Lanolin's dismay (who's now out-of-"trance" and has a growling stomach) and Bo's amazement. In Rooster Revenge, she, Booker, Sheldon and Wade are implying the strawberry ice cream is okay.
  • Other than Blue, she is the only female primary U.S. Acres character.
  • In the TV series and early books, her bow is blue. In all other media, her bow is pink.
  • Lanolin, along with Roy, Aloysius and Orson, are the only U.S. Acres characters who are known have been potty-trained. In "Much Ado About Lanolin", you could see the fake Lanolin wear white undies the first time she falls down stairs. In the Spanish version of Kiddie Korner, Lanolin, as "The Little Lou", sits in her poo, instead of being Little Mrs. Muffet sitting on a tuffet. During the song sequence "Don't Be Afraid Of Something New" in "The Bad Sport", one outfit is a dress with normal pants, possibly to not reveal undies underneath.
