Jon 2 (FRFlag Jon se dégonfle) is the 50thUS/EU episode from the fourth season of The Garfield Show.

Synopsis[]

For the love of lasagna, Odie, calm down! But the puppy can't help howling ever since Jon left for a business trip! A good thing his best friend Garfield comes up with an ingenious idea: a shirt, a pair of pants, a party balloon for the head, a pair of dirty socks for smell recognition and here is Jon Two!

Plot[]

On a stormy day, Jon is going to a comic convention for two days; he states that Liz will show up during that time. Although Garfield likes it when Jon is away, as he can seemingly do whatever he wants (i.e. tearing curtains, playing in the tub, scaring Herman away, dancing with the mice and ordering many of Vito's pizzas), he is annoyed by the howling of Odie, who misses Jon. Inspired by a sweater that came loose from a clothesline in the wind, looking like the one Jon wears usually, Garfield picks out more clothes, a balloon and strings to create Jon 2.

Odie comes in the living room and spots them, and while he is initially suspected by the appearance of Jon 2, he is convinced as soon as he smells at the socks and Garfield plays a recording of Jon's voice on the voice recorder. The two also include this figure in dinnertime and bedtime situations.

The next day, Odie asks Jon 2 if he can throw the stick, leading Garfield to imitate Jon's voice and throwing the stick himself. At the same time, Liz comes over and brings pizza for Garfield and Odie, while the wind blows the balloon, sweater and hat of Jon 2 away. It eventually blows towards a balloon sales stand in the city park, where it catches the attention of a child who wants it. Once he took the balloon, Odie notices it and takes it away, causing the child to get angry and going after him until a police officer stops Odie, leading him to release the balloon.

It would land on top of a monkey cage and catch the attention of the monkeys, one of them taking the balloon and treating it like a cuddly toy. Once Odie sees it, he goes in the cage and tries to grab the balloon, causing anger among the monkeys. Garfield notices and goes to the elephant cage, using the trunk of the elephant to spray water on the monkey. Once again the balloon flies away, continuing Odie and Garfield's chase after it.

At the same time, Jon sits in a taxi on the way back home, talking with Liz who tells him that the pets went away. He eventually spots Garfield and Odie, and tells the taxi driver to go after them. Odie catches the balloon, which lies on a cemented road that is about to be flattened, and Garfield comes just in time to rescue Odie from the steamroller. Whilst Jon just finds the two, the sweater of Jon 2 flies into his face, causing him to fall into wet cement.

Back home, Liz tells Jon, who is stuck in a big cement block, that the workers will find the right tool to get him out of it. Garfield takes it as an advantage for Odie, as Jon seemingly won't leave home for a while.
