John Freeman was an American character animator.

Having started his career with Walt Disney Productions, he worked on movies such as Lady And The Tramp. He later joined Depatie-Freleng Enterprises (working on Pink Panther and other cartoon shorts), Hanna-Barbera, and Marvel Productions (where he was a sequence director for G.I. Joe, My Little Pony, and Transformers). He also animated for The Nine Lives of Fritz the Cat, Beany and Cecil, and several ABC specials.

He was a story director for Hanna-Barbera shows Quick Draw McGraw, The Huckleberry Hound Show, and The Yogi Bear Show, and was involved with It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and Norman Normal.
