Jinx is the main antagonist of The Garfield Movie. She is a deranged criminal female Persian cat who has a vendetta to settle against Vic, Garfield's estranged father, due to their past association. By the time of the film's events, Jinx manages to track down Vic and targets him and his family so she can make him pay for wronging her just as Vic enlists his son and Odie for a heist.

Physical appearance[]

Jinx is generally described as a fat Persian cat. She has straight white fur, gray paws, conjoined eyes with white sclera and blue pupils, and a small pink nose. She has a small cut on her right ear life before she enters the music competition.

Around her neck, she wears a fancy necklace with her personality stones that change color according to her mood. At the end of the film, after being captured and forced to do community service, she wears a yellow construction helmet and an orange vest.

Personality[]

Jinx is a malevolent and vengeful villain known for her malicious actions and enjoyment of scaring others. She is portrayed as evil, yet delusional and laughably psychotic, yet highly intelligent, masterminding a whole milk heist to get back at those that wronged her, especially with the case of Vic. Ironically, Jinx has a short temper and is willing to harm or even kill those who stand in her way, which ironically turns out to be one of the largest faults in her schemes. She is often depicted drinking milk from wine glasses, adding to her bizarre and unsettling demeanor and highlighting her status as a crime boss.

Role[]

The Garfield Movie[]

Jinx appears as the main antagonist in The Garfield Movie. A vindictive Persian cat, she harbors a deep grudge against Vic, Garfield's father, for abandoning her during a milk heist at Lactose Farms, leading to her subsequent imprisonment. Jinx manipulates Vic, Garfield, and Odie into aiding her scheme to extort milk from Lactose Farms in exchange for her forgiveness. Despite initially appearing to reconcile with Vic, Jinx ultimately betrays him and orchestrates his capture after the heist succeeds. Her actions lead to the imprisonment of Garfield and Odie in the pound, where she further complicates matters by alerting animal control. Jinx's evil plans are thwarted when Garfield, with the help of allies, rescues Vic and brings Jinx to justice, resulting in her forced community service and the reformation of her former hench-dogs.

Trivia[]

  • Jinx is the second female villain in a Garfield movie, following Vetvix.
  • Jinx can be considered the darkest villain in all six Garfield movies, including Happy Chapman, Lord Dargis, Hale and Hardy, Ramone and Vetvix. While Vetvix's goals were world domination, Jinx is the first villain in the franchise that tries to not only willingly murder someone, but their henchmen as well.
