Herbert is Garfield's fairy godfather. He grants Garfield wishes, albeit at someone else's expenses.
Physical appearance[]
Herbert is an elderly and slightly overweight male humanoid cat with light brown fur and darker areas on lids and nose. His distinguishing marks are a rare mustache, gray hair on temples and top of his head, pink sclerae, and small wings protruding from his back.
Herbert wears a dark gray suit with dark shoes, light blue shirt and brick-red tie, supplemented by a lavender flower and a golden ring with a large red stone.
Personality[]
Garfield's fairy godfather pretends to be helpful, offering Garfield wishes. He conceals the fact that the wishes he grants do come with a cost - instead of conjuring lasagna and money as Garfield would expect, Herbert simply teleports those from legitimate owners to Garfield, which brings the latter trouble. When Garfield refuses to ask for a third wish, Herbert threatens him in a way typical for mobsters.
Herbert has one weakness - his wife Abigail, whom he fears greatly.

Trivia[]
- Herbert is apparently based on Don Vito Corleone from The Godfather. This is visible in his design, behavior, and phrases he uses.
- Herbert is only shown either teleporting himself or flying. Unlike most characters from the cartoon, he does not walk.
- His small wings apparently do not have trouble in lifting Herbert in the air, despite his body shape suggesting otherwise.
