Grandpa Arbuckle was Grandma Arbuckle's husband, the father of Mr. Arbuckle, the father-in-law of Mrs. Arbuckle, and also Jon and Doc Boy Arbuckle's paternal grandfather.

Role in Christmas special[]

He was first mentioned by Grandma in the television special, A Garfield Christmas in which she tells Garfield that he had passed away shortly before the events of the television special took place. According to Grandma, Grandpa Arbuckle was "a proud man" and "a strong man". Grandma Arbuckle mentioned that since his death, she misses him, especially at Christmastime since Christmas was his favorite holiday even though he had attempted to hide his love for the holiday.
