This is a page that goes in depth on the Quickies from the fourth season of Garfield and Friends.
The fourth season brought a couple of big changes to the Quickie landscape that would last to the end of the series. The first is Orson's Farm Quickies were canned starting this season due to the U.S. Acres strip being discontinued. The second is there was only one Quickie per episode, meaning that there are fewer Quickies compared to the first three seasons.
Season 4 has a total of 16 Garfield quickies, tied with Seasons 5-7 for the least of any season. Most of them are based off of Sunday strips from the Garfield comic strip. While they stay true to the original comics and tell the same story, there are often a few minor changes, like added/altered/subtracted dialogue or an added/removed scene.
Trivia[]
Characters[]
Garfield[]
Garfield appeared in all 16 Quickies, the only character to do so. Often he is the main character, but not always. Very often, he schemes bad things for Odie, Jon and even birds. Sometimes his plans work, like when Jon got tied to a plane headed for Italy, other times it didn't work, like covering a rubber hole for Odie to fall into, and other times it backfires, like getting tickled out of a tree during an attempt to capture some birds.
Jon[]
Jon appeared in 12 Quickies, the second most behind Garfield. Sometimes, he is a victim of Garfield's pranks, other times he is wondering what Garfield is up to. However, he tries not to ask.

Other times, Garfield plays jokes on him, like coating him in shaving cream. Odie became the main character in one Quickie when he searched the house for him bone.

Repurposed Comics[]
Most Quickies are based off of Sunday strips. The earliest strip used was from May 1985 and the latest was from April 1990. Oddly, no strips from 1986 or '87 were used. The year used the most was 1989, with five strips reused as Quickies from that year, just barely edging out the two years tied for second most representation, 1988 and '90, which had four apiece. Of the four years to be used, 1985 was used the least, with only three strips being reused Quickies.

Odie walks up, covered from head to toe in white foam, save for his tongue and nose. Garfield flees, claiming that Odie is a mad dog, while the pup just innocently pants. The cat returns a moment later to tell Jon that he's out of shaving cream, implying that he used it on Odie. Jon states that he just lives there, and he doesn't question it.

- Quickie Number: 95
- Original Strip: 1/29/1989
- Description: Garfield wakes up during what he calls a "hurts-to-move" morning. He tells how heavy his eyelids feel, and Jon is soon trying to get him out of bed. Predictably, the cat refuses, so Jon tries again. Garfield claims to "have no vital signs," to which Jon picks the bed up and shakes it upside-down to try to get Garfield out of it. Jon thinks his cat spends too much time in bed, and when Garfield drops out, Jon's theory is proven correct when his cat's lower half in the same rectangular-prism shape as his bed.
