Requests[]

Flamey2007[]

Flamey2007 [User] I've decided to apply for the Administrator Role, for Three Main Reasons.

No.1 - I was looking for a Smaller Staff Role, such as Cotnent Moderator. However, they don't have any criteria it seems for those roles, so I've decided to apply for admin as I fit all the criteria above.

No.2 - With Admin, I can Help Users, Block Vandals, Moderate the Discussions Page, Lock Pages due to eccessive Vandalism. Aswell as Generally Contribute to the Wiki.

No.3 - I am very devoted to the Garfield Franchise, and also this Wiki. I do have Admin ecperience on the Talking Tom & Friends Wiki, which I own currently along with another person. And I am able to be active a lot.

--- Having checked Flamey's contributions here and on the Talking Tom & Friends Wiki, I can tell he makes a good candidate for an Admin here. TeeJay87 (talk) 10:43, 3rd May 2023 (GMT+1)

--- I used to think contributing too much was bad, but your contributions are good. You should be promoted!

TheTalkingTomFan89 (talk) 3:32 PM, 5th May 2023 (GMT+1)

--- Sorry for the wait, but I have given you admin rights, as the majority (at least) of the staff find you an acceptable choice.

JRGaginer[]

I Want to become and Administrator to Delete Fake Comics - unsigned comment by JRGaginer

--- Did you check if you meet the criteria for this position? Low Spark of Lyman (talk) 17:17, 23 May 2023 (UTC)

--- I checked JRGaginer's activity and I saw this user has been blocked due to an edit war they started https://garfield.fandom.com/wiki/Special:UserProfileActivity/JRGaginer .

Notable examples include the following:

1) https://garfield.fandom.com/f/p/4400000000000033901/r/4400000000000085263 - please notice the aggressive way of squabbling JRGaginger is performing, typical for users who come to stir drama up;

2) https://garfield.fandom.com/f/p/4400000000000033886/r/4400000000000085234 - using artificial division between the so-called "Fake Comics" and "Real Comics";

3) https://garfield.fandom.com/wiki/Message_Wall:TeeJay87?threadId=4400000000000033909 - demanding requests impossible to fulfill.

Therefore, I cannot agree for JRGaginer's promotion. TeeJay87 (talk) 08:25, 24th May 2023 (GMT+1)

EllaStrudel[]

EllaStrudel [User] Originally I was hoping to get content moderator rights here, at least for the time being. However, no one seems to know what the requirements for that position are and communication about such has been lacking. I now see that I meet (exceed actually) all the requirements listed on this page to become an administrator, so I figured I'd just apply here instead.

Why do I wish to become an admin? The Garfield Wiki is good, but could be better, and there are certain tools only available to administrators that I need to improve the wiki. Most importantly, I need to be able to rename (or move) pages. On most wikis this feature is available to all users, however the admins here have limited it in response to past vandalism. Many pages have inconsistent wording ("image gallery" vs. "gallery") or capitalization ("episode" being capitalized or not), etc. This is no way to organize a wiki, and I'd like to fix it. I would also like to delete pages and old blog posts that are obviously not useful, with consensus of course. In addition, pages such as Odie and Jon Arbuckle could use to be reworded and reorganized, but are protected to allow only administrators to edit. The ability to block users who violate the rules and moderate the discussions section are two other tools I would be able to use as an admin, which would certainly be useful for keeping the wiki in order. I also feel like I know Fandom well enough to help other users, and can contribute greatly through my knowledge of the Garfield franchise.

I know you'll probably think this request is premature, given that I've only been on the wiki for a little more than two weeks, but two weeks is the requirement for activity listed above, so that's not really a valid reason to oppose this request. Even so, I've already made over 1500 edits in that time and expanded/created dozens of pages, which should prove I'm responsible enough for the role. If promoted, I would be happy to collaborate with the other admins and communicate about issues using whatever mediums are preferred.

I hope you'll consider this request promptly. Thank you! EllaStrudel (talk) 16:33, 2 July 2023 (UTC)

I read the request.
The edit tally and the will to help out with page standardization are always good traits. I appreciate the spirit, especially since I agree about the need for page rearrangement and improving communication, another person to tackle bad faith users won't harm as well.
There's only one small obstacle - I never had an opportunity to talk with Ella and therefore, I don't know how much experience in handling affairs on FANDOM she represents with herself. Me and fellow Garfield Wiki administrators often have to deal with individuals, who come to this Wiki for squabbling and harassment instead of developing their knowledge about Garfield franchise or the Wiki itself as the Garfield online encyclopedia. People like those are not partners for a civic debate, to say at least. Blocking bad faith users is also more complicated than it may seem - we have to do so carefully to avoid conflicts with FANDOM Staff.
Please don't get me wrong - I am not opposing Ella's candidacy for adminship here. Just before I agree for it, I'd like to get to know closer the aspiring colleauge for the admin team. Me and the remaining Garfield Wiki administrators can be found on Discord - I have the same username and avatar as on FANDOM.
Once we get to know each other, I'm sure a consensus can be made.

I agree with TeeJay87. Low Spark of Lyman (talk) 20:26, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
Sure, I'd be happy to get to know you guys better. :) How should we go about it? EllaStrudel (talk) 03:12, 3 July 2023 (UTC)
Contacting us by using Discord will be the best option I believe. TeeJay87 (talk) 08:36, 3rd July 2023 (GMT+1)
All right, I sent friend requests to the accounts listed on your profiles. EllaStrudel (talk) 14:43, 3 July 2023 (UTC)
I talked to Ella recently. She seems a good candidate for a Wiki admin. TeeJay87 (talk) 11:45, 7th July 2023 (GMT+1)
@TeeJay87 Same here. Low Spark of Lyman (talk) 21:23, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
Support. Ella meets all the criteria and (as others have said) seems like a good candidate for the position. LS032 (talk) 04:45, 9 July 2023 (UTC)
I agree with LS032. Flamey2007 (User talk:Flamey2007) 10:22, 9 July 2023 (GMT+1)
