Garfield's Scary Scavenger Hunt II: Donuts of Doom is a sequel to Garfield's Scary Scavenger Hunt, released in 2003. It was an interactive search and find online game that originated on Garfield.com.
Plot[]
Following the first game, Garfield finds himself back in the haunted mansion for reasons unexplained and has to escape the basement, then find seven goodies in the mansion while avoiding scary things in order to find a secret way out.
Gameplay[]
The player can use the arrow key icons or arrow key buttons on the computer to move Garfield around various rooms. Clicking objects will allow Garfield to collect them, interact with them, or start minigames. The player needs to solve various puzzles to find seven goodies hidden in the mansion. A Scare-O-Meter shown at the bottom of the screen will increase if a jumpscare occurs. If the meter fills up, Garfield will get too scared to continue and will have to start over. If Garfield finds a goodie, it decreases the Scare-O-Meter. If Garfield finds all the goodies, he will be able to access a hedge maze hidden behind the library bookcase. Upon escaping the maze, Garfield will open a treasure chest, wining the game and allowing the player to download the Deluxe Garfield Scary Scavenger Hunt II Screensaver.
Goodies[]
- Assorted Donuts: Located in the Dining Room, win at least three rounds in a shell game.
- Chocolate Covered Donuts: All the donuts are scattered throughout the mansion but will need a box from the basement to collect them all.
- Sour Cream Donuts: Located in the TV Room, the player needs the TV remote to get the donuts
- Mini Powdered Donuts: Located in the Guest Bedroom, solve the mirror puzzle to get the donuts
- Blueberry Muffins: Located in a secret compartment the Master Bedroom, the mice will steal the item and the player will have to collect 10 muffins from the holes while avoiding the mice
- Chocolate Chip Muffins: Located in the attic, the bats have stolen all the muffins and the player needs to catch without missing too much
- Mini Cinnamon Donuts: Located in the storage room, the player needs a newspaper to swat the spiders in a certain melody
Trivia[]
- The Blueberry Muffins minigame is similar to another Flash game hosted on Garfield.com, Beat the Cheese.
- Wade Duck, Orson Pig, Lyman, and Liz Wilson make cameo appearances.
- The screensaver was made available for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS 9, and Mac OS X (now macOS).
