Meatloaf[]
Meatloaf is a food that sometimes appears in Garfield comics. It is usually seen in conjunction with peas and mashed potatoes in Jon's dinner. Garfield is known to try to steal it and the rest of the dish from Jon.

- A spider once scared Jon away, which subsequently allowed Garfield to eat Jon's meatloaf. Garfield congratulated the spider for its hard work, and told the spider he owed it a favor.
- After Garfield once sent Jon several pictures of bugs that he considered gross, Jon eventually lost his appetite, which subsequently allowed Garfield to claim the dish for himself.
- After Jon once claimed he forgot to put catsup on his meatloaf, he believed that Garfield would attempt to steal it and activated a voice recording instead, telling Garfield to step away from the dish. Garfield sensed a lack of trust upon hearing the voice recording.
- A group of three mice once asked Jon if he was going to finish eating his meatloaf. This infuriated Jon, who immediately suspected it was Garfield's doing.
- Garfield once cut a hole in the kitchen table with a saw, which allowed him to pull Jon's head down, and subsequently, steal the dish.

- While watching Halley's Comet, Garfield once stole a piece of steak from Jon's dinner plate. Jon accused Garfield of stealing it, which Garfield denied. Unbeknownst to them, Odie ate the steak.
- Jon once visualized rice cakes as a juicy steak dinner. Garfield, lacking Jon's imagination, visualized Jon's steak dinner as a juicy steak dinner.
- Jon once welcomed a woman into his house, and served her a piece of steak. Eager, Garfield and Odie both attempted to claim it for themselves.
- In Here Comes Garfield, Jon serves Odie a piece of steak. Garfield also requests steak, but Jon serves him eggs and bacon instead. Outraged, Garfield throws the eggs and bacon at Jon's face.
