Jon Arbuckle is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arbuckle.

Jonathan Arbuckle

Jon is the owner of Garfield, whom he is frequently yet unknowingly mocked by, and Odie. A cartoonist by trade, he is largely presented as a comical, bumbling geek who is socially oblivious, especially when it comes to women.

Mr. Arbuckle[]

Mr. Arbuckle is Jon Arbuckle and Doc Boy Arbuckle's father who tends the family farm. Based on Jim Davis's own father, Mr Arbuckle is portrayed as the quiet, no-nonsense father type. As proven in one strip, he has very rarely been off the farm. Also, every Christmas he reads the Christmas story "Binky, the Clown Who Saved Christmas" to everyone, despite his lack of interest.

Mrs. Arbuckle[]

Mrs. Arbuckle is Jon Arbuckle and Doc Boy Arbuckle's sweet, home-focused, bubbly mother, who lives on a farm and is known to be a great cook, offering a wide variety of food for Jon to eat when he visits, especially her ability to create dozens of potato-based dishes. Based on Jim Davis' mother, Jon's mother is also known for sending him and Garfield cooked meals in packages. In the Garfield and Friends episode, "Feeling Feline," she has a speaking line along with Jon's father (who has no dialogue) in Jon's dream and she also appears in The Garfield Show.

Doc Boy[]

Doc "Doc Boy" Arbuckle is Jon Arbuckle's younger brother, who lives on a farm with his mother and father, and often fights with Jon, calling him a "cappuccino-sipping city slicker", and worse. He hates being called "Doc Boy", although he puts up with it. According to his father, this is a result of him starting to wear long pants, which occurred the Thursday before he disclosed the fact.

Grandpa Arbuckle was Grandma Arbuckle's husband and Jon and Doc Boy's paternal grandfather.

He was first mentioned by Grandma in the TV special, A Garfield Christmas in which she tells Garfield that he had passed away shortly before the events of the TV special took place. According to Grandma, Grandpa Arbuckle was "a proud man" and "a strong man". Grandma Arbuckle mentioned that since his death, she misses him, especially at Christmastime since Christmas was his favourite holiday even though he had tried hide his love for the holiday.

Grandma Arbuckle is Jon Arbuckle and Doc Boy Arbuckle's paternal grandmother, being the mother of Dad Arbuckle. Based off of Jim Davis's own grandma, she loves Jon, Garfield, and Odie, as well as the rest of her family. Much like Garfield, despite her few sarcastic remarks, she is still a loving and caring person. She occasionally makes appearances throughout the series.

Aunt Esther (voiced by Laraine Newman) is Aunt Ivy's twin sister. She has blonde hair and wears a dark blue track suit, like Aunt Ivy's red hair and pink track suit. She once appeared along with Lucretia and Tabitha.

Jon then remarks that on most days, he is able to be found.
