Dr. Mendelberger (voiced by Frank Buxton) was a doctor who specialized in television sets in the Garfield and Friends episode T.V. of Tomorrow.

Physical appearance[]

Mendelberger has curly, light gray hair at the side of his head, and has a large gray mustache. He wears a head mirror, a light green shirt, a dark green and brown stripey tie, a white overcoat, long dark brown pants, and white and green shoes.

Dr. Mendelberger is energetic, enthusiastic, and technology-driven. He prioritizes innovation, showing surprise at outdated electronics and promoting the latest gadgets with zeal. T.V. of Tomorrow[]

Dr. Mendelberger is the electronics doctor in the episode. He gets shocked when Jon says his TV is a year old, thinking it's an emergency. He insists people need the latest gadgets. He shows Jon and his pets the newest TV models, trying to convince Jon to buy a new one.

Dr. Mendelberger highlights features like a "Taste-O-Vision" and a three-dimensional TV, which Garfield and Odie try out. He also shows a mini tape player and suggests a TV version, even though it's not practical. Despite his efforts, Jon decides to keep his old TV after it starts working again.

In the end, as they leave, Dr. Mendelberger can't understand why anyone would want an old TV when new ones are available. As he and the nurse walk to the three-dimensional television set, the hand of King Kong picks the doctor up, getting him stuck inside the television.
