Don Messick (September 7, 1926 - October 24, 1997) was an American voice actor, best known for portraying numerous characters in Hanna-Barbara shows.
Among Messick's roles for Hanna-Barbera were the title character of Scooby-Doo (and later Scrappy-Doo, who was originally voiced by Lennie Weinrib), Bamm Bamm, Hoppy and Arnold from The Flintstones, Astro, RUDI, Uniblab and Mac from The Jetsons, Ruff and Professor Gizmo from Ruff and Reddy, the title character of Ricochet Rabbit, Boo-Boo Bear and Ranger Smith from Yogi Bear, Muttley from Wacky Races and Dastardly and Muttley in Their Flying Machines, Dr. Benton Quest from Johnny Quest, Sebastian from Josie and the Pussycats, Papa Smurf and Azrael from The Smurfs, and Blip, Zorak, Moltar and Bronty from Space Ghost and Dino Boy. He also did narration for many of Hanna-Barbera's shows. He succeeded Howard Morris as the title character of Atom Ant and Mr. Peebles from Magilla Gorilla.
Messick occasionally voiced Droopy in cartoon shorts produced by MGM; he reprised the role several times in the 1990s. He later portrayed Officer Growler and Mr. Hoofnagel from The Get Along Gang, Gears, Ratchet and Scavenger from The Transformers, and Hampton J. Pig, the Gremlin, and Bosko from Tiny Toon Adventures.
In a rare live action appearance, Messick starred in The Duck Factory.
