Comic Errors are mistakes made by the artist of the comic strip where a scene or color will be wrong.

Types of comical errors

Discoloring

Many modern colored versions of the comic strips have incorrect colors used. A common example is when characters' eye(s) share the same color as their skin.

1970s

First Panel: Odie's left eye is the same colour as his fur

First & Second Panel: The turkey moves across air, rather than a table.

1980s

First and Third Panel: 7 pancakes are shown, then turns to at least 13.

First and Second Panel: Garfield's nose is white.

First Panel: Odie's eye color is the same as his fur.

Third and Sixth Panel: Odie's eye is the same color as his fur.

Second Panel: Garfield's eyelid is white.

First Panel: Odie's eye color is the same as his fur.

First Panel: The pizza cheese is green.

First Panel: Garfield’s dialogue in the thought bubble is pointed to Odie.

Third Panel: Jon's eye color is the same as his skin.

Third Panel: Garfield's eyelid is white.

Third Panel: Odie's spot disappears

Fourth Panel: Jon's dialogue appears from the right, but he enters from the left in the next panel.

First and Second Panel: The item under the toaster changes from red to purple.

Seventh Panel: Everything is discolored.

1990s

First Panel: Garfield's left whiskers are missing.

Second Panel: The mirror shows Jon's tie as purple instead of blue.

First and Second Panel: The TV remote's color scheme changes. Possible: The dialogue from the TV is pointed to Garfield's thought bubble. Though, it is possible Garfield was just reading the text from the screen.

Second & Third Panel: The colors of the pennons changes.

Second Panel: Garfield's nose is white.

Seventh Panel: Garfield's nose is white.

All Panels: Although Jon states it is the middle on the night, the sky in the background is shown as blue.

First Panel: The word "ghastly" is thinner than the rest of the text.

Third Panel: Garfield's mouth is white.

Second Panel: Garfield's nose is white.

2000s

Second Panel: Garfield's lips are discolored white.

First & Third Panel: The outer ring on the bowl disappears.

Third Panel: The shadow under the hat disappears.

All panels & logo box: Garfield's lips have a greenish tinge.

All Panels: Garfield is shown to have two dots on his mouth, rather than three. Also, the text bubbles have a slight blue tinge.

Third Panel: Everything supposed to be colored white are the same color as the background.

All Panels: Garfield's left whiskers are missing.

Third Panel: The mask covers Garfield's nose, although his nose is visible in the first two panels.

2010s

Second Panel: Odie's tail is missing.

Third Panel: The line separating Jon's eyes and eyelids continues onto his face.

All Panels: Everything supposed to be colored white is discolored the same color as the sky.

All Panels: There are 5 petels shown, but then turns to 6.
