Carlos Vega (December 7, 1956 – April 7, 1998) was a Cuban-born American session drummer based in Los Angeles. He performed with James Taylor for 13 years. He appeared on albums by artists including Shaun Cassidy, Al Jarreau, George Benson, Olivia Newton-John, Laura Branigan, Sheena Easton, Melissa Manchester, Sam Phillips, Dionne Warwick, Diane Schuur, Patti LaBelle, Natalie Cole, Neil Diamond, Vince Gill and Cher.
Vega was a member of the jazz-fusion bands Karizma and Caldera. He was among the instrumental performers for the soundtrack to Grease. He was a major influence on fellow L.A. drummer Jeff Porcaro.
