Can't Sleep! (
Insomnies !) is the second episode of Garfield Originals.
Synopsis[]
A variety of scenarios is showing Garfield's trouble with sleeping.
Plot[]
In the first scenario, Garfield is trying to sleep with his teddy bear Pooky during a stormy night. The lightning outside the house wakes him up. Garfield covers the window with a curtain. Once he turns the lights off, the curtain rolls up outside of Garfield's reach. The orange tabby elects to climb a nearby bookshelf and reach the curtain while standing atop of it. Garfield jumps and grabs the curtain strap, only to wind up being rolled up in it.
The second scenario depicts a mouse approaching Garfield while sleeping. Having checked that the cat is in REM sleep, the mouse brings loudspeakers and plays an electric guitar in front of Garfield, immediately waking him up with rock and roll music. The infuriated Garfield rises in front of the mouse with sharp teeth and claws prepared to attack, but the mouse uses the guitar to make a lullaby to make Garfield go back to sleep. The mouse then plays again, both waking Garfield up and breaking the camera.
In the third scenario, Garfield is sleeping next to an alarm clock before being woken up by a telephone ringing. He goes to answer the phone, only to find nobody else is on the line. He hangs up the phone and goes back to bed, only for it to ring once again. He answers it again to find nobody is on the line, and returns to bed once more. The phone starts ringing again, and this time he pounces on it with his sharp teeth and claws, before throwing it on the ground and breaking it. He then goes back to sleep, only to be woken up by the alarm clock.
The fourth scenario depicts Garfield approaching his bed to snooze next to an alarm clock. The alarm clock rings and wakes him up, so he throws it across the room to try and break it. Odie takes the clock and brings it back to him, waking him up. Garfield repeatedly throws the alarm clock, but Odie keeps bringing it back until Garfield throws it into Odie's mouth.
In the final scenario, Garfield is sleeping on his bed with his blanket, but a spider sees Garfield sleeping and tickles his nose. Garfield grabs the spider and slingshots it away. Many spiders come and wrap Garfield in the web, and the spider tickles Garfield's nose again.
