Buddy Hackett (August 31, 1924 - June 30, 2003) was an American actor and comedian, best known for his roles as Marcellus Washburn in The Music Man, Benjy Benjamin in It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, Tennessee Steinmetz in The Love Bug, Scuttle in Disney's The Little Mermaid series, and the title character of the 1956-57 series Stanley.
Hackett was a frequent guest on The Tonight Show with both Jack Paar and Johnny Carson, The Perry Como Show, The Arthur Godfrey Show, and The Joey Bishop Show. He was a recurring panelist on What's My Line? and Hollywood Squares, as well as Password, I've Got a Secret, Tattletales and Celebrity Sweepstakes. He hosted the early 1980s version of You Bet Your Life.
