(The episode begins above Jon’s house. Garfield is inside  snoring on his chair)

Garfield: Snore! Snore! (He suddenly jolts himself awake) Yawn! Boy, what a night! (The camera turns around the chair, and Garfield reveals himself to be a duck) Quack! Oh, heh, you may have noticed that I'm a duck. (He waves and then hops off the chair) Yep. (He walks forward and around the table) I'm a duck and you’re probably wondering how I became… Quack!... a duck. It happened yesterday, (He holds up one wing and a flashback ensues, starting at Mrs. Cauldron’s house) and it started in this house, (He zips into view and points at it) just down the block.

(Inside, Winona, Mrs. Cauldron’s niece, is watching a fairy tale on a floating TV)

Princess: I knew someday my handsome prince would come and rescue me!

Prince: And I knew someday I would find a lovely princess to be my bride! (Winona has a book on her lap. She leans forward with her head in her hands, clearly invested) True love will ALWAYS find a way.

Winona: Deep sigh! (She clasps her hands together longingly. Just then, Mrs. Cauldron calls for her)

Mrs. Cauldron: Winona, are you watching (Winona snaps her fingers and the TV disappears) fairy tales again? (She walks up to her niece)

Winona: Stutters No, I was studying my magic spells.

Mrs. Cauldron: Don’t lie to me, young lady! (Winona closes the book. Mrs. Cauldron raises her arms) You were watching fairy tales again! (She holds her finger up) I warned you they’ll give you bad dreams!

Winona: Scoff! Fairy tales aren’t scary, Aunty.

Mrs. Cauldron: They are if you’re a witch! Have you seen what they do to witches in fairy tales? They burn us, (Winona is shocked at this news. Imaginary fire rises behind her) they melt us, and prancy children are always shoving us into ovens! (Mrs. Cauldron shakes her head and raises her finger) I can't believe they show that stuff to kids!

Winona: (shaking her head) Nope! Nope! (She grabs the sides of her head) I don’t wanna hear this! (She hangs her head low)

Mrs. Cauldron: (pointing) Well, study your spells, and don’t let me catch you watching or believing in fairy tales again! (She leaves. Winona is quite distraught)

Winona: Cries I will find somebody someday, won’t I? Someone who thinks I'm beautiful, and really wants to love me, it really does happen, doesn’t it? (She asks the raven, who has been silent until now)

Raves: Nevermore!

Winona: Cries (The puts her face in her hands, weeping a stream of tears)

(Elsewhere, Jon and the pets were visiting Doc Boy on the farm)

Garfield: (narrating) And while all that was going on in our neighborhood,

Odie: Bark! (He chases a turkey through the yard)

Garfield: (continuing to narrate) we were out in farm country, and you know how much I love that. (Garfield stands in front of an open barn door, his arms crossed in front of his chest)

Garfield: Sigh. (His eyes narrow) I wanna go home. (Odie runs up to him with news that might lift his spirits)

Odie: Mutters

Garfield: Gasp! Gloria’s making lasagna for dinner?

Odie: (nodding) Mm-hmm!

Garfield: And I wanna go home. (He points vaguely in the distance with his thumb. Jon walks with Doc Boy and his girlfriend Gloria nearby)

Jon: You and Gloria seem very happy. (A hen and chicks peck at the ground)

Gloria: Oh we are, Jon, we are. Ever since we started dating, he’s been happier (Doc Boy beams with pride) and healthier.

Doc Boy: That’s how I feel, and wait ‘til you taste the dinner Gloria’s making. (She suddenly remembers something)

Gloria: Oh, I have to check on my lasagna! (She races back inside, leaving the two brothers behind)

Doc Boy: I found myself a GREAT little lady, Jon! And (He points) don’t call me Doc Boy.

Jon: I haven’t called you Doc Boy yet.

Doc Boy: (resignedly) You will.

(Cut to the Cauldron residence)

Garfield: (narrating) While this was going on, Winona was studying spells. (She does just that inside, but first, cut back to Garfield the duck, who is raising his wing feather) Ooh, I almost forgot! In case you missed the earlier episode, Winona had a crush on Jon. She tried to marry him, but fortunately, (He raises his feather again) we stopped it in time so Jon could be with Liz. (He is, of course, referring to an earlier Season 3 episode, Every Witch Way. The flashback picks back up with Winona, who has grown tired of studying and gets up) But she still had a crush on Jon and couldn’t resist sneaking a peek at what he was doing. (The raven floats over to her as she peers into a small cauldron. She can see and hear Doc Boy and Jon talking within its green eerie glow)

Winona: Chuckles Oh, (She puts her hands on the cauldron’s rim) there he is.

Doc Boy: She makes great lasagna! (Odie zips by, still chasing that turkey)

Odie: Bark!

Jon: It won’t matter. (He scratches the back of his head) When Garfield’s around and they serve lasagna, (The Flabby Tabby zips up to Jon’s leg and smiles at him) I never seem to get any.

Garfield: Laughs

Winona: Jon Arbuckle is so dreamy! (She lifts her hands to her face longingly) I wonder who that guy he’s talking to is.

Doc Boy: Don’t worry, Jon. (He puts a hand on Jon’s shoulder) You’re my brother. I’ll make sure you… (He is drowned out by Winona)

Winona: Gasp! His brother! Another Arbuckle! (She looks back into the cauldron, lifting her leg and waving her hands)

Doc Boy: (pointing) Just don’t call me Doc Boy.

Winona: I didn’t know Jon had a brother, and he’s just as dreamy! (She clasps her hands near her face again) Did you hear that, bird? (The raven just shakes his head, as if to say, “Here we go again.”) I found my handsome prince at last! (She starts to head out, but the raven butts in)

Raven: Nevermore!

Winona: Oh! (She glares at the raven) Scoff! (Determined, she heads out on her broom)

Garfield: (narrating) And off she went to bag herself her very own Arbuckle.

Winona: Laugh

Garfield: (narrating) She had the laugh down, but she still wasn’t great on her spells.

Winona: Cackles (She eventually flies over Doc Boy’s farm. It must’ve taken a fair bit of time, as when she left, the sky was its brilliant blue. Now it is painted in the vivid oranges, reds, and dark blues of a sunset. Winona skims over her book again)

(Inside, the unsuspecting Doc Boy has one last chore)

Doc Boy: I have one more cow to milk! I’ll be back before dinner is served. (He leaves the house, but has one last request for Jon. He points at the door) And don’t call me Doc Boy!

Jon: (from inside) I haven’t! Yet! (Doc Boy sees the pets walking toward him)

Odie: (quietly) Hm? (Doc Boy points behind him with his thumb)

Doc Boy: Better get your place at the table, Garfield, you don’t wanna be late. (He heads for the barn)

Garfield: (holding his finger up) I’ve never been late for lasagna and I don't intend to start now! (He leans toward Doc Boy, as if angrily shouting) Oh and I, uh, still wanna go home.

Odie: Grr! (He stands next to Garfield, glaring at him) Oh! (The fat cat is surprised by Odie’s sudden action, but Doc Boy keeps making his way toward the barn, passing a hen and chicks)

Doc Boy: Hums (Before he can enter the barn, Winona appears next to him, catching him by surprise)

Winona: Hello. My name is Winona and I'm going to be your bride!

Doc Boy: Oh, that’s nice. (He heads into the barn)

Garfield: (narrating) Jon’s brother can be slow. About a gallon and a half later… (The delayed reaction kicks in)

Doc Boy: My bride?! (He zips back outside) Did you say you were going to be my bride?

Winona: You can’t say “no” to me!

Doc Boy: Yes I can, watch this! (He points at his eyes) No! (He wags his finger at Winona) I said “no” to you! (Winona runs up to him)

Winona: Gasp! He’s even got a sense (She hugs him) of humor!

Doc Boy: (pointing up) It goes with my sense of survival! (He zips away, leaving Winona leaning on nothing) Bye! (She falls, but almost immediately picks herself back up, furious)

Winona: If he wants to play hard to get, (Imaginary fire rises behind her) I can play along! Broom! (Her broom revs up like a car engine. She sits upon it and is lifted into the air. Doc Boy runs toward the house, but is stopped when Winona zaps him with magic green lightning)

Doc Boy: AAAAHHHH! (He runs this way and that. The young witch spams lightning around him) AAHHH! AAAHHHH!

Winona: Don’t run, Mr. Arbuckle! (Her tone becomes angry) This was meant to BE! (She takes off after him)

(On the other side of the house, Garfield and Odie are walking together)

Garfield: I’ll tell you why I wanna go home, Odie. It's boring (He wags his finger at the pup) here on the farm. Nothing ever happens. (They are surprised by Doc Boy’s screaming)

Doc Boy: AAAAAHHHHH!

Garfield: Yelp!

Odie: Yowl! (Both pets watch Doc Boy running for his life, Winona still dropping lightning around him and chasing him)

Doc Boy: AAAAHHHH! Help! Help!

Winona: Don’t fight it, Mr. Arbuckle! We were made for each other! (Garfield racks his brain, thinking)

Garfield: (while scratching his head) Hey, I know who that is. (He taps his chin and then remembers who it is. He promptly tells Odie) That’s Mrs. Cauldron’s niece! (Just then, Jon and Gloria burst out the front door)

Gloria: What’s all this noise about? (Doc Boy blows by them)

Jon: Doc Boy, are you alright? (Garfield and Odie run up and stand beside Gloria)

Doc Boy: I’m being chased by a witch that wants to marry me!

Gloria: (shocked) Marry him?

Doc Boy: Yeah! And I knew you’d call me Doc Boy! (He closes himself in the shed. Winona stops chasing him and peers at Jon, Gloria, and the pets from above)

Jon: Gasp!

Winona: I can’t see who those people are, (She shrugs) but I better cast some spells so they don’t interfere. (She waves her finger and a book appears in front of her. She flips through the pages)

Garfield: (narrating) Like I said, Winona wasn’t the greatest witch, (She smiles as she finds a good spell. Cut back to Garfield, who is sitting in the birdbath and holding up his feather) but she DID have her copy of Magic Spells for Dummies. (Returning to the evening prior…)

Winona: Laugh (She snaps her fingers, and her wand appears. She points it at Jon and the others and waves it around) Alacazap! (Jon gets turned into a squirrel with his hair)

Garfield: (narrating) She turned Jon into a squirrel…

Gloria: I don’t know what’s happening here! (She gets turned into a horse) Neigh!

Garfield: (narrating) She turned ME into a duck… (Which is precisely what happens)

Garfield: Hey, you can’t do this to my friends! They’re all… Quack! Quack! Quack, quack, quack! Quack! Quack! (He stops, shocked. Odie is the last one)

Garfield: (narrating) And she turned Odie into…

Odie: Wow!

Garfield: (narrating) a dog?

Odie: Bark! Huh? (Winona skims through her book)

Winona: I guess I shoulda picked some other kind of animal. Oh well. (He pounds her broomstick and tosses the magic book away. With Jon and the others out of the way, she flew into the barn to retrieve her groom-to-be)

Garfield: (narrating) Finally, she swooped up Doc Boy and carried him off!

Doc Boy: AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!

Winona: Let’s go get married, Doc Boy!

Doc Boy: HEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP! (He waves his arms and legs in protest) And don’t call me Doc Boy! (The two of them sail into the distance)

Gloria: Whinny (She looks at Jon, the squirrel)

Garfield: (narrating) Jon went off looking for nuts, (He scurries over to a tree and climbs its trunk in a winding pattern) but Gloria stuck around to panic.

Gloria: Oh! I don’t wanna be a horse! I wanna be Doc’s WI-I-I-IFE! (She kicks her front legs)

Garfield: Well unless we think of something, THAT job, Quack! (Both Odie and Gloria flinch in surprise from the sudden quack) is about to be filled.

Odie: Worried moan (He grabs his face. Garfield turns to him and wags his feather at him)

Garfield: The only person who can stop her is her aunt, Mrs. Cauldron!

Odie: Yip! Mutters (He holds his paws out in front of him and moves them as if he was driving a car)

Garfield: You’re right. None of us can drive, (He wags his feather again) but we DO have transportation! (He points at Gloria, the horse)

Odie: Huh?

(Later that night, Gloria bounds down the road to the city, carrying Garfield and Odie on her back)

Garfield: Hi-yo, Gloria!

Odie: Worried mutters and barks

Garfield: Don’t worry, Odie. Mrs. Cauldron will Quack! know what to do.

Garfield: (narrating) We made it to Mrs. Cauldron’s in NO time. (Cut to the outside of her house) It was easy for her to change (Cut to inside, where the three animals are in front of Mrs. Cauldron, two of them waiting to return to their original forms) Gloria back to Gloria.

Mrs. Cauldron: Alacazap! (She shoots lightning from her fingers, and Gloria is turned back to normal. Mrs. Cauldron walks toward her to make sure she’s OK) Dearie, are you alright? Do you know where you are? How many fingers (She holds up three fingers) am I holding up?

Gloria: Neigh! (Mrs. Cauldron is shocked, and so are the pets)

Garfield: Quack!

Odie: Whine

Garfield: (narrating) Then, cast a long-range spell to turn Jon back into Jon.

Mrs. Cauldron: Alacazap! (Back on the farm, Jon is turned back into his old self. However, he was sitting on a tree branch when this happens, and the added weight causes the branch to snap)

Jon: WHOAAAAAA! (He lands on the ground hard) Oof!

(Returning to Mrs. Cauldron’s house, the elderly witch reads in her book for how to return Garfield to his fat feline self)

Garfield: (narrating) But changing me back to me proved to be more difficult.

Mrs. Cauldron: Duck into cat… (She flips some pages in her book) duck into cat… I can't seem to find it. Here’s “duck into aardvark”.

Garfield: (disapprovingly) Quack, quack, quack! (He shakes his head and glares at her)

Mrs. Cauldron: Oh, you wouldn’t want to, chuckle I didn’t think so. Well, the duck spell will wear off, (She closes the book) eventually.

Gloria: We may not have much time!

Mrs. Cauldron: I know where she must’ve taken him. I’ll take us there. (She holds her finger up) This will be a great time to try out my new tricycle broom.

Garfield: (narrating) In no time at all, we were airborne. (The four of them, Garfield, Odie, Gloria, and Mrs. Cauldron, fly into the air on a two-pronged broom)

Mrs. Cauldron: Cackles (She flies into the camera, transitioning into the witch’s realm)

Garfield: (narrating) And in even less time than that, we were nearing the tower of witchery! (They weave around lightning strikes, flying toward a building resembling a castle, albeit an upside-down castle)

Mrs. Cauldron: This is where witches go to marry, or to get their warts polished. (They draw near to the tower)

(Inside, Winona is in the middle of the wedding ceremony with Doc Boy. The Head Witch is the pastor asking the major questions before the “I do's”)

Head Witch: Do you, Winona, take this man to be your loftly wedded warlock? (Winona, who is wearing a black wedding dress, is all too eager)

Winona: For sure!

Head Witch: (to Doc Boy) And do you take this woman (She points at him) to be your loftly wedded witch? (Doc Boy raises his finger to interject)

Doc Boy: Will it matter if I say “no”?

Head Witch: (shaking her head) Not in the slightest.

Doc Boy: (resignedly) I didn’t think so. And don’t call me Doc Boy.

Head Witch: I now pronounce you… (She lifts her wand, about to make the marriage official, when Mrs. Cauldron and the pets walk up and quickly put a stop to it)

Mrs. Cauldron: Wait!

Crowd: Gasp!

Mrs. Cauldron: (continuing) Stop the ceremony!

Head Witch: Oh no, not again. (She puts her head on her fist, annoyed. Mrs. Cauldron walks up to her niece, the duck and dog duo behind them)

Winona: Auntie!

Mrs. Cauldron: Winona, (She wags her finger at her) you bad little girl!

Winona: Cries I just wanted someone to marry me! Is there anything WRONG with that?! (She cries again)

Mrs. Cauldron: If he doesn’t want to, PLENTY! (Doc Boy and Gloria hug)

Winona: Well, I guess I'm never gonna FIND anyone!

Mrs. Cauldron: Winona, (Odie steps to his left side) you’re young. (Odie gives her a reassuring nod)

Winona: And by the time I find someone, I'll be your age! Cries (She takes off from the altar. Odie is visibly sorry for her)

Odie: Whine… (Garfield stands up for her)

Garfield: Hey, give the kid a break! (Odie looks between Garfield and Mrs. Cauldron, but doesn’t make a sound)

Mrs. Cauldron: She’s got to stop believing in fairy tales!

Garfield: Why?

Mrs. Cauldron: Because they don’t come true! I’m 300 years old, (She lifts her finger up) and I’ve NEVER seen a fairy tale come true!

Garfield: Did you ever believe in them?

Mrs. Cauldron: Well… no. (She shakes her head)

Garfield: Well maybe that’s why. But Winona does. She believes in true love and happy endings.

Mrs. Cauldron: Oh, (She facepalms) those things don’t happen in real life!

Garfield: They might if you let them happen! (He points briefly at her) And in case you haven’t noticed, you’re (He points at her again) a witch and I’m a talking cat who got turned into a duck. Quack! This is not real life! Hello!

Mrs. Cauldron: Oh… yeah…

Garfield: Give your niece a break and… (He whispers incoherently into Mrs. Cauldron’s ear. Everyone tries to listen in)

Mrs. Cauldron: That’s not a bad idea. Alacazap! (She makes the Prince from the TV show Winona was watching earlier appear before them)

Garfield: Now that’s what I call a handsome prince.

(At the top, or the bottom depending on how one looks at it, of the castle is Winona, who is mourning the loss of her groom)

Winona: It’s no use. I guess some of us weren’t meant to ever find true love. (The Prince walks into the room with her)

Prince: We all feel that way, until we do. (They hold hands)

Winona: Gasp! I always knew you were coming! I just didn’t think you’d ever show up.

Prince: May I have the honor of this dance?

Winona: Totally. (They dance together in front of the wedding guests)

Crowd: Awwwww!

Odie: Awwww! (He clasps his own paws together and lifts them to his face, as if to say, “How sweet!” Doc Boy and Gloria dance together in the background)

Garfield: (to the viewers) Well, that’s pretty much the happy ending of it all. Winona found her prince, Gloria and Doc Boy went home, and Mrs. Cauldron wiped out everyone’s memory of what happened. (The scene changes to the kitchen. Only Garfield remains the same) Everyone except me of course. Someone had to narrate this episode. Quack! Oh, and she assures me this duck thing, (He points at himself) it’s gonna wear off in a couple of days, or weeks, or sometime. (He slides out the back pet door) In the meantime, I’ve decided to enjoy it! Huh? (He sees a trio of ducks flying above him) I’ve always wanted to fly south for the winter. Ahem! (He flaps his wings) Hmm. Heh. (He tries getting a running start, flapping faster and faster) Grunt! (He soon gets airborne and joins the other three ducks in flight) Hey guys! Wait for me! We can stop off for pizza! Vito’s has a discount for ducks! Quacking (As he and the other ducks fly into the distance, eventually disappearing from view, the curtain closes on this episode)
