Ballantine Books is a book publisher from New York. Founded in 1953 by Ian and Betty Ballantine, it was acquired by Random House in 1973; Random House would be acquired by Bertelsmann in 1998.
Since 1980, Ballantine Books has published numerous Garfield books, primarily compilations of the comic strip.
