Plot

After being awakened by his alarm clock (which is thrown out the window), Garfield heads downstairs. Along the way, he apparently encounters Squeak three times. When Garfield heads into the kitchen, he discovers it to be full of mice.

Although shocked, Garfield doesn't mind the mice hanging out in the kitchen. He changes his mind after seeing that the mice have eaten his breakfast. When confronted with the ordeal, Squeak eventually convinces Garfield to let the mice stay by offering servitude. Garfield enjoys the arrangement, as the mice do what he wants. Upon Jon's return home, he gets all the mice to hide. When Squeak is the only one remaining, Garfield sits on him.

As Jon checks in with Garfield and his job at keeping a watch around the house, Odie senses Garfield hiding a mouse, and sniffs around him. After Jon goes into the kitchen for something to eat, Garfield kicks Odie out of the house. Jon briefly returns to talk to Garfield, only to find him holding a mouse (which Garfield pretends is a toy).

When Jon tries to get crackers, he notices that the box for them is empty (and assumes that Garfield ate them all). When a pair of mice run out of the cupboard, Jon notices them, along with other mice in the kitchen. Jon yells out Garfield's name, informing him of the mouse problem. In the computer room, Jon shows Garfield an ad for the pest control service Ratator Pest. Jon expects Garfield to get rid of all the mice while he's away; otherwise he will hire Ratator Pest to do the job and use his cat food budget as payment.

Garfield tries to get the mice to leave, but to no avail. As Garfield worries about the mice (and himself) due to the certainty of Jon calling Ratator Pest, he gets an idea. He takes Squeak to the computer to show him the Ratator Pest ad. Horrified, Squeak is willing to do as Garfield says to avoid dealing with the company. When Jon returns, he sees that the mice are still in the house. Before he can call Ratator Pest, Garfield manages to summon the mice into a bag, which he throws out the window.

Jon rewards Garfield with takeout from Luigi's Lasagna. When the van arrives, Garfield takes the mice into the back. He happily sees them off, but upon realizing that they will have an abundant supply of lasagna, he joins them. After receiving an order of lasagna, Jon tries in vain to call for Garfield. Meanwhile, at his restaurant, Luigi has to deal with the mice, as well as Garfield.
