ABC Family was the name of an American television channel now known as Freeform.
The channel started as CBN Satellite Service, an affiliate of the Christian Broadcasting Network, a religious network owned by televangelist Pat Robertson. It eventually began to focus more on secular, family-oriented programming, which led to the channel's rebrand as the The CBN Family Channel. It later became known as The Family Channel (after being spun-off from CBN), Fox Family Channel (when purchased by News Corporation and Saban Entertainment), and ABC Family (when purchased by ABC owner The Walt Disney Company, which also acquired Saban Entertainment). It was rebranded as Freeform on January 12, 2016.
On February 14, 2004, ABC Family and Toon Disney launched the block Jetix.
