Merry Christmas Eve, everybody!
That would be so cool. Am I right? Liz loves a brave man and Jon is brave enough to serve in the military.
Would you like to see that happen? Because I do.
(Spoilers, scroll down))
I enjoyed the movie, most of the jokes made me laugh and the backstory they gave Garfield was pretty ok. However, there are many things that I didn’t like/I thought they should have done differently.
(these are my opinions, they may not match with your opinions)
It felt like a movie with Garfield in it.
If that makes sense. It felt like Garfield didn’t even need to be there half of the time and they could have made him a lot more useful.
They should have used more Garfield characters.
Liz had one line and Nermal had a 2 second scene, if they used more Garfield characters, I would have felt more connected to the story.
If (for example,) Nermal was one of Jinx’s henchmen, I would have felt happier when he got his redemption, instead, they use characters completely original to the movie and, as a result, I don’t know them and can’t feel happy for them.
They definitely could have used Liz in a way, maybe she comforts Jon when Garfield is missing, or helps him in some other way.
The main objective felt vary “first-drafty”
The main objective for Garfield, Vic, and Odie is to steal milk for Jinx. Her request is eventually found to be a trick to get Vic in the pound.
They literally could have done any other plot and they chose a milk heist? And they chose this plot and didn’t even make a reference to U.S acres?! I know that Jinx was put in the pound during a milk heist, but still, stealing milk is the main objective?!
Odie was very out of character.
They may have tried going in a different direction for Odie in this movie, but anyone a can agree that he was WAY to smart in it. He seemed less like a silly dog and more like a henchman to Garfield.
The side plot was boring.
I don’t mean to sound rude, but I didn’t care about the cow love story at all. Again, mostly because I don’t know these characters at all, why should I care if they were separated? I’m not very knowledgeable on the U.S acres series, but I feel that they could have used those characters here instead.
The villain song in the end credits was fire, though
What happened to Flamey? He’s been inactive on this wiki since April 22. Is he taking a break again?
Who has the book?
Can someone please tell me what thing you have to have done in order to become a mod here?
In the scenario where any one short of The Garfield Show gets taken down, I tend to record it to have a back-up copy of it when it does get taken down. Most of the shorts from the internet are derivatives of either off-air recordings (specifically international broadcasts on Boomerang or Boing) or from the show's DVDs.
However, I have seen several frames of the shorts produced during Season 2 being used as thumbnails on episodic uploads of the channel. As of now, the only other pieces of media relating to the series itself that hasn't been uploaded to the channel is the single-part versions of Season 3 and 4's specials, barring Furry Tales, which was uploaded as "Garfield, the Princess and the Dragon" on January 1st, as far as I know. Even the original version of the Rodent Rebellion (when it was formatted like a standard Season 3 and 4 special) was uploaded as "Garfield Against the Rats! Who Will Win?" (seemingly. Everything exclusive to that version seems to be present on that upload) on Wednesday.
The shorts aren't full episodes, so a compilation of them, whether they be on a Season to Season basis or the full compilation of them aren't really as practical as uploads of The Garfield Show or Garfield Originals, though it would be the next logical step after the Rodent Rebellion and the single-part upload of Furry Tales.
It would be neat to see those officially available again, even if it is unlikely.
So I've been thinking. Lyman from early Garfield strips doesn't seem like your average white dude from America. Maybe he's Middle Eastern? I wonder if Jim David ever commented.
I kinda thinking since Peanuts is the only comic strip cartoon series to be on PBS, what will Garfield be on PBS for the tv specials?
Despite his city slicker attitude, Jon Arbuckle is quite a devout man. Garfield never fails to raise witty social critiques about modern society and actually contains some profound commentary on a multitude of topics.
Sry it's sideways
Stay tuned for my series Garfield Goes Viral: a special COVID-19 Issue! Coming soon!
(yes, it is a spin-off. All content is original, with the exception of the characters.)
