1. Favorite Character: Winona Cauldron
I don't think I have to explains why I really love this awesome blonde haired purple witch woman. For some reason after seeing her for my very first time back in November 2014, Winona got most of my attention when I re-watch The Garfield Show back in the said year. Winona is just too good to be true to become Garfield character as she's not just beautiful woman with her having one of the best character design in the show especially for show exclusive character, she also cool and powerful witch as well and her character development is something that even other The Garfield Show characters couldn't achieve. Even more greater she has the best personalities of all existing character in The Garfield Show especially with her being a sentimental real-life human being characteristic even from Season 3 as her being a lonely witch who never met her parents and she never got the love that she desires from her Aunt, also she even got even more better as she become motherly, kinder, and friendlier towards other in Season 4 really inspired me and how I can see the greatness of Winona character is. It really proves how Philippe Vidal and Mark Evanier amazing effort to make Winona as a real life human who stuck in the television which is prove how sentimental she is compare to other characters. Also it proves how much everyone deserves a second chance even for the worst people that exist as they didn't waste their potential to reform themselves, and that's what Winona taught me to improve and makes her very character inspiring me the most.
2. Despised Character: Nathan
Don't understand why this cruel and diabolical children have to be exist in the first place. His personality is just straight up obnoxious and he's a complete sadist even to the point making Dirk Dinkum and Mama Meany as a nice guys in comparison. And he really did the worst of everyone could do especially in episode "More Than Meets the Eye" when he's intentionally abuse Garfield and Odie by making Jon serving him a cat food and he makes Jon a jerkward in the same episode which is extremely cruel. Glad that in the said episode he got what he deserves as he destroy his house by his mother punish him in the latter episode in "Garfception" Garfield finally get revenge on this piece of asshole by making him encounter on his own nightmare by raining trash that defines himself with his own machine.
3. Favorite Episode: Bride and Broom
This episode is just so touching, emotional, and melancholic at the same time. And proves how much the cast and the director put all of their love and effort on this episode how they making Winona characteristic is so human as she's a real life character that trapped inside a cartoon. In this episode I just can't help but to feel bad of Winona for her who never got her love of her life as Mrs. Cauldron disapprove her marrying Jon or Doc Boy with her sobbing of her never find her true love and giving up herself finding one at near the end of the episode. Also don't forget in her previous episode "Every Witch Way" if a witch marrying someone yet they're not become a full fledge witch that witch will be executed to death as that witch breaking rules yet love is just a rare chance in a lifetime. Worse that the director says that Winona never met her parents so it means that she never experienced love and affection for the rest of her life as she only trains to become a great witch and her Aunt just focusing her to be as powerful as possible. Thankfully Garfield confess Winona's feeling of her desire of love as he ask Mrs. Cauldron to give her a break with him telling Mrs. Cauldron that they're in the cartoon not in the real life. Because of that Mrs. Cauldron create Prince Charming in order to filled Winona's heart with love that before only contains nothing but emptiness as after that episode Winona really change herself to become a better individual as she's become a great mentor, caring, motherly, and kind witch in her last appearance in "Bewitched" special as she finally finds the definition of true love.
4. Despised Episode: Little Yellow Riding Hood
Man! This episode is just mean-spirited and very cruel. Even more cruel than King Nermal and More Than Meets the Eye. How can Jon accused Garfield of stealing his cake even the fact that Odie is the one who did that to the baby wolf? Also he punish Garfield for not giving him food and let him starve which is unpleasant to watch. Yet I watch this episode once and until now I didn't have any guts to watch this again anymore.
5. Favorite Season: Season 4
Just like they says. Save the best for the last. And that was the staff and crew of The Garfield Show did with this pinnacle season. Even most of people didn't like Season 4 mainly to the music and specials, but for me it's really something that makes this season so special. And also with this season proves how much character development that got flanderized badly and unlikeable characters from earlier season reform themselves as they change for the better. Like Nermal who was in the beginning was an annoying jerk who sometimes reach to the level of cruelty like in episode "King Nermal" and "It's About Time" completely reform himself as he's become Garfield's sidekick as both of them just a frenemies and how much he appreciate Garfield despite of both of them start as nemesis in season 1. Jon who was a bumbling idiot who punish Garfield and Odie even to the point he didn't give them food as he let them starve in the earlier season become way much smarter, more goofy as his jokes pretty much funny, and only punish Garfield lightly like in episode "The Six-Can Solution" as he's only removing midnight snacks on Garfield's diet also at that time he has a financial issues so he's pretty much reasonable that time. Drusilla and Minerva who's originally single minded annoying twins who likes to dress Garfield and Odie becomes their ally as well especially in episode "My Cousin Petunia" as both of them working together to punish Greta and protecting Greta from her bullies. Dr, Whipple who's originally an antagonist in Garfield because of his job as psychiatrist for his personal gain allied with Garfield and team up to against Nathan in "Garfception". Also Season 4 has the least number of terrible and mean-spirited episodes compare to it's predecessors as most of the episodes are pretty much enjoyable and well-written especially on the specials.
6. Despised Season: Season 1
Season 1 has some good episodes but sadly it has been overshadowed badly by bunch of bad episodes as some notoriously horrible episode exist there like "King Nermal", "Nice to Nermal", and "Little Yellow Riding Hood". Worse is that this season got the worst animation quality of all as I notice how much cheap the graphic is especially on the characters and the color is just not detailed making it seems to be poorly animated. But luckily the graphic has been greatly improved in season 2 onwards and better in season 3 this show participates Studio RedFrog and Once Upon A Toon to work on their animations so this problem won't be an issue anymore in the latter season. Not just that on this season Garfield, Jon, and Nermal at their absolute worst as they're flanderized badly compare to their Garfield and Friends counterpart which makes most of the older fans of Garfield disappointed in The Garfield Show thanks to it's rough start and it's also the reason why The Garfield Show become so underrated despite how much improvements that it gives on the latter seasons.
7. Favorite Comic Character: Herman Post
I honestly find Herman to be enjoyable despite of him being an underrated character which is ironic since he's from comic strips that has most of core character and most of people know about them. Herman despite of him being a butt-monkey but his personality is so funny and he's really an enjoyable character. Sad that people ignore about his existence despite of him being an entertaining character. Also I'm really glad when they make an episode dedicated for him in "Delicious Donut Day" when Garfield and Odie celebrate Jon's birthday and Herman's birthday is the exact same day with Jon. And to make it up Garfield step up outside and giving Herman the full box of Darcy's Donut as Herman's birthday present. Despite of Garfield always pranking him up and tormenting him every single day, it's very touching and heartwarming of Garfield compare to all other people in Herman's life who's the only cat in Herman's life that cares about him and both of them singing happy birthday together and celebrate Herman's birthday.
8. Neutral Comic Character: Odie The Dog
Don't get me wrong. I like Ode and he's one of my favorite character in Garfield. But sadly compare to other characters I find him to be bland, has little impacts even compare to some new TV only show characters, and no strong personalities compare to the other comic strips characters who appears in The Garfield Show like Garfield, Jon, Liz, Nermal, and Arlene. If he has more personalities and they could make his character interesting I definitely will like Odie more but for now on I'll put him on the list because of that reason.
9. Favorite TV Show Only Character: Vito Cappelletti
I might able to choose Winona again here but since she's already on the favorite character, I think it'll be greatly unfair to my other favorites if I put her twice here. For me Vito is such an impactful and has a strong role even he's a show exclusive character. He also has an unique accent and his personality is entertaining as he likes to overreacting as an artist and seeing himself as a master chef to his restaurant. Also more interestingly he has a brother named Nunzio who lives in Italia and planting Lasagna Tree along with their mothers. Also Vito is pretty much one of the few new characters who did care about Garfield despite of him being strict to him especially on the earlier episodes as Vito serves him pizza and lasagna how much the loss that impact on his restaurant with Garfield extreme level of appetite.
10. Despised TV Show Only Character: Aunt Ivy
One of the character that has both of her appearance and personality fits to be hate. Aunt Ivy with her Karen personalities and her appearance as a stereotypes real life Karens. From the very first time I saw her there's nothing pleasant about her. Her personality, appearance, voice, character development, level of temper, and how she treats others it's all awful. Even Garfield says that she's a much more worse individual than Aunt Ivy as she's completely obnoxious to everyone as she treats others like a garbage and slaves. Worse that she's also an animal abusers too as seen in episode "Whatever Happened to Aunt Ivy?" as she lets Garfield and Odie starves for the night and go right straight to beaten them up after Garfield stole some banana from the fridge. In Kick Buttowski she must be the counterpart of Ms. Chicarelli since both characters bears extremely similar resembles such as hair, clothes color, glasses, personalities, and how unpleasant their sounds like to hear.
11. Character With Best Design: Celest St' Clair
Celest is really a surprise for me. I thought that I wouldn't find a character that has a better design than Winona. But when Celest came she really fits the definition of "Perfect Beauty" in The Garfield Show. As she has a golden blonde hair tied with her ponytail, her blue eyes, her body figure, her country jeans, her country boots, and her pink shirts makes her character to be the most beautiful women in The Garfield Show. In fact I really enjoy drawing her as she's pretty much of a Femme Fatale like most of Garfield women, but Celest taking it up to the next level and it's really amazing of her could do such a thing.
12. Character With Worst Design: 3D Monster Garfield from Tyler Edge Studio
His design is pretty much like Zabadu with Garfield head and sharp teeth makes him feels unoriginal and he looks less pleasant to see than the canon Gorefield that appears in episode "Time Twist". Luckily that we're only sees this monster for less than 3 minutes and after that monster destroying the whole lab. He will never see him ever again.
13. Funniest Moment: The Whole Episode of "The Golden Lasagna Awards"
I found this episode to be the funniest of all from the beginning until the end. Nermal raging because he didn't get his trophy, all the other characters gets angry of Garfield won all the trophy as he host the show for himself, Nermal calling Bruno and all the dogs to beaten up Garfield, Garfield setting a trap to Nermal so his plans got backfired, Garfield announced that Nermal was the winner of the last award, Odie and Nermal expressions when Nermal won the last award, Bruno and the dogs beating up Nermal since he believes that he's "The cat that win all the awards from himseld". AND THE MOST FUNNIEST PART IS WHEN NERMAL BEING CHASED BY BRUNO AND OTHER ANGRY DOGS WHILE BRINGING HIS TROPHY!!!
14. Tearjerking Moment: The Last Part of "Long Lost Lyman Part 4"
As Garfield, Odie, Jon, Lyman, and Angie encountered the REAL Zabadu and the cryptid throws both Dirk Dinkum and Buckley into the sky with their Jeep. Lyman decides to take Odie along with him which means that Garfield and Jon will no longer sees their beloved dog anymore as Odie return to his original owner. And it gets even sadder when Garfield, Jon, and Odie hugging for the last time before they says farewell to the dog as three of them crying together with the ending part of Odie running alone into Lyman and left Garfield and Odie heartbroken. Also the part when Garfield and Odie didn't help at all as Garfield remembers all the good times that he had with Odie in the past with "Care and Share" song played with the flashbacks of Garfield and Odie having their good time. Last but not least Lyman finally go back to Jon Arbuckle's house and bring back Odie since it's the place where he truly belongs which shows a heartwarming moments despite after the tearjerking that we all went through. With the ending of Garfield and Odie throwing sticks once again and before Lyman come back to the forest when he become fake Zabadu, Jon says "No. Tomorrow it'll be just like it used to be. Right now, it's even better." which makes the last scene to be both heartwarming and tearjerking at the same time as this is when everything back to normal but the trade-off is that we won't see Lyman anymore at least until now.
15. Favorite Animal Character: Myron
He has my favorite design of cats in The Garfield Show and he often ally Garfield along with Harry and Lucky. Also his appearance is strongly reminds me of Tom Cat from Tom and Jerry. Myron is a cat that I found his personality to be one of the best along with Garfield, Lucky, Teno and Geno, Arlene, and Trixie and he really brings me lots of nostalgia of Tom and Jerry which is why for me his design is so appealing for animals.
16. Despised Animal Character: Crusher
At first I thought I'll put Bruno on this list but I'd prefer Crusher better since Bruno at least has his funny moments and he sometimes become Garfield allies while Crusher doesn't. Crusher is just straight up cruel and his design is just not my favorite even I found Big Vicious Dog to be better than him. Also unlike Rottweiler, Doberman, Hercules, and Renfrew who's sometimes become an ally for Garfield, Crusher is just pure of a jerkass which is what makes him even more unlikeable.
17. Favorite Human Character: Angie
Another TV special character from The Garfield Show that deserves so much attention than what she is now. Angie is really kind, sweet, and thoughtful to animals as she's really against a poacher with ill intention like Dirk Dinkum that willingly to do anything for the sake of money even harming others. Too bad that she has a little number of screentime just like most of TV show exclusive characters despites of the potential that she got. Not just that Angie is a perfect material for a friend with her kind and heartwarming personalities as she's able to help Garfield, Jon, and Odie find their lost friend Lyman and on the same time finding the mysterious creature Zabadu in "Long Lost Lyman" and she also waving and smile at African children in "Lion Queen" as she on her quest to protecting Manzian White Lion along with Garfield, Jon, Odie, Armstrong, and Liz from Dirk Dinkum, Buckley, and Spencer Spendington.
18. Despised Human Character: Mama Meany
He's the true definition of delusional corrupt executive tyrant. Mama Meany is really an awful character and villain to deal with. As he cares nothing but just money and fortune. Even for the sake of money even it by means cheating on every customer that put a trust on him and he abuse his henchmen constantly. Glad that in episode "Lasagna Tree" Mama Meany got what he deserves as Garfield using Eddie Gourmand's device to broadcast his sick plan and despicable intention all over the world and got him exposed which leds him into bankruptcy as he lost everything that he got in the end.
19. Most Overrated Character: Garfield, Odie, Jon, and Nermal
Don't get me wrong. I really enjoy those core characters as much as others do. But I think that people know them everywhere and because of them those shows only character even including Garfield and Friends and The Garfield Show only characters becomes forgotten and abandoned. Most of the characters that taking up to the cake is Garfield, Odie, Jon, and Nermal. Don't get me wrong I love those four characters but sadly that I've seen their fanarts everywhere, their screencaps everywhere on the internet, memes, and people always talking about those four characters to the point that they forgot the other characters existed. Liz, Big Vicious Dog, Lyman, Doc Boy, Herman Post, Arlene, and EVEN Squeak is all forgotten compare to those four core characters which is why this Garfield franchise as completely losing focus on other existing characters than those four protagonist despite of Garfield franchise has mountain of other characters from comic strips and televisions other than those four.
20. Most Underrated Character: All TV Series Exclusive Characters
I think that this is way too obvious. Not just The Garfield Show only characters but for Garfield and Friends only characters (I'll talk about them on the different post). Most of people says that The Garfield Show only characters are bland, boring, and didn't giving impact to the shows at all as if they're not exist the show still could goes on, but the fact that it's not true. What I see is that most of the show exclusive characters has so many potential that could giving the show impact especially on the characters that appears regularly. Like Vito Cappelletti without him the show won't be entertaining as he's the one who contribute on Garfield love on Italian foods, Eddie Gourmand who's become a food critic and he shares the same passion of Garfield in terms of appetite, Drusilla and Minerva despite of them being annoying but they're pretty much reliable allies for Garfield and Odie, Harry a stray cat who's often become allies with Garfield and Odie as they team up on their adventures along with Myron and Lucky, Mrs. Cauldron who's every fan favorite witch has a great impact on Garfield in the Neitherworld along with other witches, Angelica who's Vito Cappelletti's girlfriend that joining on his adventure on Italia, Angie the tour guide who's taking care of the jungle animals who's goes on the adventure of finding Lyman and stop Dirk Dinkum of capturing Manzian White Lion, Winona who's an in love witch that later helps Garfield, Odie, and Abigail saving the world from evil witch Varicella, Gloria who's Doc Boy's girlfriend, Dingbang who's a Chinese teenager that helps Garfield, Odie, Nermal, and Jon finding a treasure heist in Great Wall of China, Armstrong who helps Garfield, Jon, Odie, and Angie stopping Dirk capturing Manzian White Lion, Abigail who's an apprentice witch kid who holds the role as main heroine stopping Varicella, Miss Kitty who works at Dr. Whipple first but later reformed and tells the truth about her former comrade, Blenn who's the alien that helps Garfield and Odie to save the world from Master Control, Nunzio who's helping his cousin Vito stopping Mama Meany from capturing Lasagna Tree, and Celest St. Clair who bring back Garfield, Odie, and Nermal who lost in the dessert. This is why those show exclusive TV characters has lots of meaning for the core characters even to the point they have so many potentials to be explore if this show could last longer than it supposed to be.
21. Favorite Song: Final Broom Bride
A perfect song to settle a happy ending in "Bewitched" special. On this song the lyrics are good, the voice is so exciting, and it's a perfect farewell for the last appearance of the show witches as they become heroes who saving the world from Forbidden Moon Spell. Which at the same time it's also a tearjerking moment as this is our very last time seeing those wonderful witches with their speaking roles. As we never seen Mrs. Cauldron, Winona, Abigail, and Varicella in the future episode which make this scene very emotional and melancholic at the same time.
22. Despised Song: Bad Boy
This songs show how much vicious and cruel Dirk Dinkum is. And also proves that he's a monster and pretty much an asshole to everyone that he knows that everyone that he has. Also this song reflect how much narcissistic, self-centered, and obsessed by himself Dirk Dinkum is and shows much very unlikeable this guy is.
23. Favorite Side Character: Athlete Girl
This part is hard to decided along with Sheila (Harvey's wife) and teenage girl since three of them has the best design for background character. But in the end I choose Athlete Girl instead. She has the design level that nearing Celest and Winona's level in terms of look. And I think that she deserves to be a regular character instead of background character for example like befriending with Winona, Angie, Celest, Angelica, or Gloria since they're woman on the same age group and this Athene Girl could be a great companion for them or at least one of them.
24. Despised Side Character: The Man with Hat and Doc Boy's clothes
For some reason, I think he has the most lazy design for a background character. As he pretty much just a Doc Boy with facial hair, different eyes, and hat. I've seen him mostly driving on his pickup truck just like Doc Boy did and his character is pretty much didn't interest me at all.
25. Favorite Villain: Dr. Whipple
Compare to all the villains in the Garfield. I found Dr. Whipple to be the one that got me laughing the most. His expression, personalities, slyness, and his voice actor makes him so unforgettable as a villain. Dr. Whipple is really a fitting villain for Garfield as he's pretty much isn't evil but just doing his plans just for entertainment and personal gain. He sometimes also a reliable ally like in episode "Inside Eddie Gourmand" when he helps Eddie to recover his mind by reconcile with his mother and in episode "Garfception" when he helps Garfield defeating Nathan by telling him that Garfield is the only person who can control his dream and nobody else could do that.
26. Despised Villain Dirk Dinkum
This sicko is just another narcissistic and sadistic villain who do anything for tormenting others. And he's very obnoxious and self-centered towards other just like Nathan. Glad that he got what he deserves twice when Zabadu throws away him and Buckley into the sky in "Long Lost Lyman" and he along with Buckley and Spencer got arrested in episode "Lion Queen".
27. Favorite Ship: Jon X Liz (JoLiz)
You cannot go wrong with this ships and I found both of them to be very adorable together. Also I found their relationship in The Garfield Show to be much healthier and more suitable for each other as Liz didn't have her sarcastic personality remains and Jon is smarter than he is in comic strips. This case is the same as GarLene but I decide put JoLiz here because they have so many moments together and their relationship are more focused in The Garfield Show than most of the ships.
28. Despised Ship: Garfield x Miss Kitty (GarKitty)
The main reason why I don't like this ship is because they originally didn't love for each other and it was all Dr. Whipple's plan to make Arlene left Garfield as she believes that Garfield cheat on her. Even the truth is that Miss Kitty actually didn't like Garfield either and it was just a setting for Dr. Whipple to get into Glitter Gulch first than others.
29. Favorite Special: Lion Queen
This is definitely my favorite episode in Season 4. As Garfield, Jon, Liz, Odie, Armstrong, and Angie teaming up against Spencer Spendington capturing Manzian White Lion with Dirk Dinkum and Buckley as his henchmen. Also this episode has some funny moments like Spencer gets his head being eaten by shark and he puts a smile on Queen Tania's face. Also the music on this episode is very catchy too like "Out in The Wild", "Cat Union", "Ultimate Cat", and "Out in The Wild Final".
30. Despised Special: Rodent Rebellion
A good episode to be honest but sadly it has a weak ending and this episode is pretty much rushed up. Also I'm asking Mark Evanier about this episode that the staff and crew didn't have an interest to work on this final episode so no wonder we can see how small the effort that they give on this final episode, and for me this is really a big mistake. Because of this The Garfield Show has a really disappointing ending just like "Last Fan Standing" from Kick Buttowski as both episodes are work with minimal effort as it seems to be "Lazy" despite that the show that they made is a good one. Plus what disappointing me the most is that Jon didn't have a chance to be release from the prison and he could see Garfield and Odie again after the evidence of his being innocent already prove with Ratzo and other rodents goes to jail. If they could work on this episode as maximum as possible like calling all the existing characters from season 1 until 4 to fight against Ratzo and the other group of rodents that also joining together with other past villains like Nathan, Dirk Dinkum, Spencer Spendington, Buckley, Mama Meany, Dr. Puzzle, and others I'm pretty sure that it'll be an epic ending for The Garfield Show. And not just made 4 episodes only they have to make this last episode as a movie instead as some of cartoons and animes has a movie to end their series which is possible for The Garfield Show.
