Their is a lot of redundant categories in this wiki. For starters the Category"Garfield Characters‏" is being deleted and replaced by "Characters" which was already in place. Not every category needs to have the title Garfield. 

"Characters" is the parent category, meaning it will have sub categories. The subcategories will include "Male Characters", "Female Characters", "Other Characters", "Humans" and so on. 

Another subcategory of "Characters" will be "Animals". "Animals" in itself will be the parent category for the type of animal, meaning "Dogs" , "Cats" , "Mice , ect...

A lot of of articles are already marked correctly, but parent categories will be deleted since they are just redundant. 

Example.:

Garfield was categorized as: "Garfield Characters","Characters", "Male Characters", "Animals", "Cats", "Male Animals". 

Now it should be : "Male Characters" , "Cats".

"Cats" is already a sub category of "Animals" so its implied, and "Male Characters" is already a sub category of "Characters" so it should be easy to find in the "Characters" category. 

Last example:

Odie categories where  "Characters","Dogs", "Male Characters", "Animals" ,"Protagonists" "Garfield and Friends Characters", "The Garfield Show Characters", "Garfield Characters" ,"Garfield Show" "Garfield and Friends" "Comic Strip"

Now Odie categories are "Garfield Show" ,"Garfield and Friends" , "Comic Strip"(they stay, he is related to those series) , "Dogs ","Male Characters", "Protagonist"

I'm not sure about "Protagonists" so it stayed for now. 

For those items that used the category "Garfield Characters" to refere to the comic strip, now the category "Comic Strip" will be used instead; but it was already in place so it shouldn't be an issue.
